Earache

Earache is quite common in young children and is NOT necessarily due to an infection. It can be connected with a cold, a sore throat, toothache or swimming.

Treatment

 Give paracetamol syrup at the recommended dose to relieve the pain and reduce any fever which may be present.

 Contact your doctor if:

     ¨      the earache continues despite giving paracetamol

¨      there is a discharge from the ear
