 OUT OF HOURS COVER

There is always a doctor on call to deal with urgent problems when the surgery is closed.

Most overnight and weekend cover is provided by the GP Out of Hours Service, which is commissioned by Birkenhead and Wallasey Primary Care Trust.  Advice or an appointment will be offered, but it is not appropriate to just call in at the Out of Hours Service – you need to ring first.

You will hear an answer-phone message giving you a further number to ring, so you will need to have a pen and paper to hand. Please only ring outside of normal hours if the problem is urgent.

 All calls to the OUT OF HOURS service will be recorded.

You may contact the Out of Hours service direct between the hours of 6-30pm and 8am on weekdays and all weekend on

However between 8am and 8-30am on weekdays you need to ring 07765 832157. 

(If in any doubt please ring the surgery number on 677 0486 and the answer-phone message will give you the number to ring for the Out of Hours service.)
